Event description

Description

Money can represent power, independence, autonomy, and dependence, to name a few. It’s rare that two people in a partnership have the same beliefs and background when it comes to their money. In this 90-minute workshop, our special guest Lindsay Bryan-Podvin will give you tips on how to start the money conversation without putting you, or your partner, on the defense.

You'll learn:

- Three different ways you can manage your finances

- How to structure a constructive financial conversation

- How to set financial goals that work for both of you

About Lindsay

Lindsay is the first financial therapist in Michigan. You can find her at http://mindmoneybalance.com. She brings financial literacy to the community in an empathic, easy-to-understand way that unravels internalized barriers to feeling amazing about managing money. With a background in mental health research and psychotherapy, she's thrilled to offer these unique, and much needed, services in our community. To help make her services accessible to all, she is a volunteer with Circles of Washtenaw County, a program with the goal of breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Lindsay holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Michigan State University.
