Description

*Although this event is free, we would like it to be for PS154 Families only. Please only register if you are a parent or guardian of a student at PS154.*

Although this event is SOLD OUT, if you would like to come to this event, or another event like this in the future PLEASE put your name on the waitlist. There will likely be last-minute cancellations of tickets which will free up seats, and even if not, we can possibly arrange for a second event like this, and we will give you priority if you do not get a seat for this event.

This training provides parents, guardians and caregivers with strategies for how to talk about race and racism with their children. Participants learn how children see race, gain skills for approaching age-appropriate conversations with a racial equity lens, and practice strategies to promote positive racial identity development in children.

This training is presented by Border Crossers, an organization with a mission to train and empower educators to dismantle patterns of racism and injustice in our schools and communities. Border Crossers envisions a world where all young people learn and thrive in racially equitable, liberating, and empowering educational spaces.

The event is sponsored by the PTA of PS154 and is free to PS154 parents, guardians, and caregivers. Babysitting/pizza for school-age children is avaialble at $5 per child.
