This workshop focuses on using the Framework for Teaching to observe practice and provide growth-focused feedback to teachers.
About this event
Participants will have the opportunity to dig into the Framework for Teaching rubrics and focus on the foundational skills needed to support a culture of adult learning and growth in schools. We will also discuss specific strategies and opportunities for observing online instruction.
Audience: School leaders, instructional coaches, teacher leaders...All educators interested in observing and providing feedback to teachers using the Framework for Teaching.
Format: There will be three live, synchronous sessions (Tuesday, Thursday, Tuesday - each 2.5 hours). Participants will complete interactive, asynchronous modules (a total of 4.5 hours) between the live sessions and receive feedback from facilitators through modules and office hours.
Total Time: 12 hours
Primary Outcomes:
- Develop deeper understanding of the FFT Components and rubrics.
- Practice aligning evidence to the rubrics.
- Plan for observation and coaching cycles.
- Learn to lead growth-focused and asset-based conversations with teachers to improve practice and build self-efficacy.

Optional Add-On - Virtual Reality Coaching Circle
Want the opportunity to try out your feedback skills in a simulated setting? Join up to 3 other colleagues in a virtual reality simulation. You'll each have the opportunity to deliver feedback to an avatar teacher who will respond in real time. A DG Framework Specialist will lead the circle and give feedback. You'll hear how your peers engage and have a chance to practice in a low-risk setting.

Certificate of Completion
Within a week of the workshop's conclusion, educators who completed the workshop will receive a certificate noting the number of seat hours. We urge all participants to confirm with their school or district whether attendance will meet requirements for continuing education. In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must attend all sessions and complete the asynchronous modules.
