Talent Development Seminar -- Resolving the Skilled Labor Shortage
Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM (EST)
Expert Tech is hosting a morning of discussion to highlight training and job opportunites in Advanced Manufacturing. Advanced Manufacturing industries in Michigan and across the United States are experiencing tremendous growth with optimistic projections for 2014 and beyond. However, a major threat to this growth is the well-documented shortage of Skilled-Labor. If something isn't done to address the talent-gap, our workforce will not be prepared to capitalize on this opportunity. Face it, our workforce is getting older and the best and brightest young people of today are not aware of the opportunities available in Advanced Manufacturing.
Expert Tech is proud to feature several engaging speakers, all offering extensive information important to Recruiting, Training & Retaining Skilled Labor. Speakers will include the following:
Laurie Harbour, President and CEO of Harbour Results, Inc.
Laurie is a well-known expert in the automotive tooling industry and recently her organization Harbour Results, Inc., released the 2013 Automotive Vendor Tooling Study that documents the state of the automotive tooling industry along with the best practices of the OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and tool suppliers of this industry. Laurie will present information from this study and highlight the demand for tooling into the future and illustrates just how strong and viable this North American tooling industry is particularly in the State of Michigan. She will talk extensively about the skilled labor gap in the industry along with the extensive loss of experience the industry has suffered from and share the findings in this area from the Tooling Study. Additionally, she will talk about what the best are doing to solve this problem and who they are working with to gain a stronger foothold on the future strength of their workforce. Laurie is a powerful speaker and this presentation is a must see event.
