Description

Taking the Scary Out of Data

Using data to make informed decisions does not have to be scary or cumbersome at all! Join us as we cut out the confusion and lead a workshop to help faculty and staff to increase their level of confidence in using data to make decisions about their classes and students. We will begin by identifying how we already use data daily in our lives and then we will then move into a hands-on workshop that will provide attendees a chance to identify a question that they have about their classroom or students. Once the questions are identified, we will think through ways to use data to answer the question. This process should help attendees figure out a starting point to make changes, or to validate changes that they have made. See how easy it is to begin this process!

This workshop is an introduction to data for anyone who works with students. While emphasis will be placed on classroom decision making, all faculty and staff are invited to participate.

Presented by: Anna Pittman: Research Coordinator, Brian Miller: Planning and Analysis Director and Happy Gingras: Director of Teaching and Learning

*Teaching and Learning sanctioned event. Attendance is worth 10 points.
