Overview

SCORE is committed to recognizing and disseminating best practices across Tennessee's schools and districts. In an effort to highlight the successes and challenges of technology innovation faced by educators today, SCORE is hosting a Virtual Convening on March 13, 2013 with an expert panel of Tennessee educators to discuss how technology can be used to transform teaching and learning. The interactive event will be live streamed to allow educators from across the state to participate in the discussion and contribute their diverse perspectives on educational technology. We hope this opportunity will enhance the conversation around technology’s role in schools, in addition to providing educators, leaders, and organizations with a forum to connect and share best practices with each other.

Panelists

  • Chuck Jones, Chairman, Tennessee Educational Technology Association; Chief of Technology, Jackson-Madison Schools
  • Laura Luna, STEM Coach, Prescott STEM Platform Schools, Putnam County
  • Kecia Ray, Executive Director of Learning Technologies, Metro Nashville; President-Elect, International Society for Technology in Education

State Collaborative on Reforming Education

The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) collaboratively supports Tennessee’s work to prepare students for college and the workforce. We are an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan advocacy and research institution, founded by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. SCORE inspires leaders by sustaining momentum around a common reform agenda, holds a mirror up to the state to illuminate what is working and identify key challenges, and supports work to innovate and develop creative solutions to educational challenges. We do this through research-based policy advocacy, strategic communications, outreach, progress monitoring, and highlighting and sharing best-practices.
