The "Take-Up Space in ATL" experience is your opportunity to share, learn, and connect in an affirming environment that nourishes your entire being. We know how complex, yet beautiful it is to be a woman of color living in a larger body. So we created an experience that focuses on all the nuances of your womanhood, culture, body relationship and more. We want you to think of this as a day time slumber party with friends that you haven’t met yet and sisters you didn’t know you had.

The event will include:

  • Meet & Greet: Connect with other women of size from the ATL and other parts of the world.

  • Eat & Drink: Enjoy delicious food and refreshing beverages while chatting and connecting.

  • Learn & Reflect: Hear helpful insight and perspectives from our panelists about living as a woman of color in a larger body while you also have the opportunity to share your own journey and experiences.

Each attendee will also receive a swag bag and have the chance to win door prizes from our sponsors!

Fat Women of Color™ started as a movement on Instagram in February of 2017. In just a little over a year, it has now expanded to having over 21,000 followers and a private Facebook Group. The online platforms have helped thousands of larger-bodied women of color by providing sisterhood, support, and sanctuary for them to flourish and thrive.

Last year we hosted our very first LIVE event in Washington D.C. It sold out!!!

This year we are doing it again in Atlanta, Georgia
