Event Information
Event description
The Take Flight Festival is an inspiring weekend with staged readings full of fresh, fierce, and fun spins on historical events and myths!
About this event
APRIL 29 @ 7:30 p.m.: "Winter's End" opens our festival with an absurdist version of the Persephone myth from Greek legend, questioning the fact that Persephone makes no choices of her own.
APRIL 30 @ 3:00 p.m.: Our Saturday matinee, "Kalos K'agathos," reveals Medusa in Hell, and her sister-Gorgons intent on breaking her out.
APRIL 30 @ 7:30 p.m.: Saturday night offers "Suff*rage," a bloody, bawdy, feminist revenge fantasy centered around women’s suffrage…and maybe a zombie.
--Each performance will offer a short talk-back session afterwards.
