Ray Newal, Managing Director, Ryerson Futures

Ray is a globally-inspired entrepreneur, mentor, advisor, and investor. He spent the first decade of his career in online advertising at DoubleClick, Microsoft, and Yahoo. In 2009, Ray set out as an entrepreneur to address the burgeoning appetite for mobile video content in emerging markets, a journey which would take him to Mumbai, India, where he was able to raise capital from Sequoia Capital, and several prolific angel investors. Following an exit in 2015, Ray has been advising, mentoring, and investing in founders across the globe.




Sara Cooper, Talent Director, OMERS Ventures

Sara Cooper is the Director of Talent at OMERS Ventures, one of Canada’s largest VC firms. She works closely with the senior leadership of some of North America’s most promising and successful tech companies to build strategies designed to attract, retain and develop top Talent. Prior to joining OV, Sara led Talent related programs at several tech companies including FreshBooks, Microsoft and Lavalife. Sara is passionate about the Canadian tech ecosystem and believes that its success will be driven by creating environments that attract the best and brightest from all over the world.
