Description

Libraries Outside and the Alameda Free Library invite you to take part in our National Take-A-Hike-Day Virtual Group Hike!

National Take-A-Hike Day is November 17th. To participate in our virtual group hike, hike/walk/run in any Alameda City, Regional, State or National Park between November 14 and November 24, 2018. Report your completion by posting a tagged photo of you on your hike, showing the date you hiked, to our Facebook page, and then pick up your prize at the Main Library, 1550 Oak Street Alameda.

You can find lots of resource information in the Library, including books about hiking in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, loaded backpacks, and GoPro cameras to take on your hike.

Come to an event on Tuesday, November 13 at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St. Find out about the parks that surround us, check out a backpack, books, or a camera, and plan your outing.

More about virtual events: Virtual group hikes are just like traditional group hikes, with the wind in your hair, sunshine in your face, community and fun, but you can hike, walk or run wherever you want with whomever you want. The only thing virtual is the group! Participants report their hikes and then we give them a prize for completing the hike. What have you got to lose?
