An Opportunity for Young Adults to Deepen Spirituality, Experience Global Solidarity, and Discover Christ’s Calling in Geneva, Switzerland and Taize, France

What Is It?
The Pilgrimage is designed for young adults (age 20s/30s) to deepen their spiritual identity, participate in the global Christian church, and discover Christ’s call to a journey of reconciliation, justice, and peace.

Pilgrims will spend time in Geneva, Switzerland, learning about the work of the World Council of Churches and the Ecumenical Centre, as well as touring the United Nations Office at Geneva and visit sites important to Reformation History and Theology.

From there, pilgrims will journey to the Taizé Community in France, an ecumenical monastic community of brothers with a particular emphasis on reconciliation and young adult faith formation. (You may be familiar with the chants from Taizé used in worship in many churches, including FCCPA.) Pilgrims will form community for a week in retreat, participating in the prayers, Bible Introductions, and communal work that arises in this place that welcomes young people from around the globe.

Learn more about the trip on this link.

Note well: each pilgrim is responsible for her or his own flight arrangements. You must arrive in Geneva on Wednesday, July 29, and your departure may be any time on or after Monday, August 10. While the trip facilitator is able to provide recommendations, you are encouraged to do your own research and, if interested, to use the services of a travel agent at your own expense.

The $1,200 trip fee charged on this registration includes ground transport in Europe, accommodations, shared meals, Taizé fees, and trip facilitation/supplies. The following meals are included in the trip fee: Thursday, July 30 dinner; Friday, July 31 dinner; all meals from dinner Sunday, August 2 through dinner Sunday, August 9. All other meals are the pilgrim’s cost and responsibility.
