Tai Chi is a gentle moving meditation that is suitable for people of all ages and levels of fitness. It focuses on breathing, movement and relaxation. It has been proven to reduce the risk of falling by enhancing balance and body awareness. Tai Chi can also improve coordination and flexibility and may lead to stress reduction and pain control. It is taught by a series of movements that are put together to make a “Yang-style form”, thus making it easier to remember. The usual length of the classes is one hour per week for a six week period, which completes the first level. Students can continue, if they wish, to complete levels two and three.

Alex Turek has been practicing Tai Chi for seventeen years and teaching since 2002. She has trained for 17 years and continues her studies, monthly, with 10th Degree Black Belt, Master John Fritz. She has, in the past, been certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis, Diabetes and Energy.
