Event description

Description

Tai Chi is an ancient discipline whose practice is intended to integrate body and mind to produce a sense of “Flow”, or as Tai Chi guru David Dorian-Ross calls it, “exercise the soul”. While it literally means “the ultimate martial art”, Tai Chi, legendarily invented by Zhang San-feng, is actually a blend of Chinese martial arts, medicine, and Taoism. Through it, he hoped practitioners would achieve health, longevity, and enlightenment as well as work out and learn a martial art. Traditionally, most routines begin with a movement called “Opening the Door”, and we hope you’ll open that door by joining us in the garden for Tai Chi at the Norton this spring (or in the museum if raining). Glenn Guerin of Lee’s Kung Fu and Tai Chi will be offering a four-week session with Saturday classes from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on April 6, 13, 20, and 27 at a cost of $30.00 for all four. You’re welcome to attend whether a novice or a seasoned practitioner. Please join us to nurture both your inner and outer self.
