TADPole: Treating Alcohol and other Drugs in Primary Care

The WA Primary Health Alliance and SIRCH: Edith Cowan University invite you to attend Activity 1 of the TADPole (Treating Alcohol and Drugs in Primary Care) Project.

An Active Learning Module (RACGP Category 1 QI & CPD activity) has been developed consisting of three types of education activities delivered in metropolitan and rural areas. General practitioners and other health care providers can attend one or more activities (GPs receive RACGP QI & CPD points).

TADPole Activity 1: Challenging attitudes and common issues encountered in general practice

This two-hour interactive face-to-face session is presented by general practitioners who have experience in treating alcohol and drugs in primary care.

Topics Include:

  • Drug Trends
  • Resources to help GPs manage drug use issues
  • Setting Boundaries and self care
  • Helping parents/families with concerns about drug use
  • The new regulations and the Schedule 8 prescribing code

  • Other local specialists

QI&CPD Activity 102650: Allocated 4 Category 2 points in the QI&CPD Program for the 2017-19 triennium and contributes towards a Category 1 (40 point) Active Learning Module.
