Tactical Urbanism Workshop
Description
How can an inexpensive, short-term project create long-term societal change? Guerilla Gardening. Pavement-to-parks, Reclaim A Parking Space – these are all examples of an exciting trend in urban placemaking commonly referred to as Tactical Urbanism. Mike Lydon, Principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, will visit the Tampa Bay area to lead a Tactical Urbanism Workshop alongside local leaders, planners, advocates, and stakeholders. This workshop will provide an overview of tactical urbanism, and will equip workshop attendees with an understanding of how to plan, fund and implement tactical urbanism projects. Attendees will work together to plan and implement a tactical urbanism intervention for a select opportunity site within the workshop location area and will walk away from the workshop with the tools to implement more projects throughout the Tampa Bay Region. 4 AICP Certification Maintenance credits are pending approval. This event is CNU-a eligible. Click here to read more about Tactical Urbanism.
