OVERVIEW
The Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) course is the military counterpart to the Prehospital Trauma Life Support Course. It is designed for professionals who want to learn the life-saving skills necessary to take charge during a catastrophic event.
Casualty care on the street or in the battlefield requires the best possible combination of good medicine and small-unit tactics. The specifics of casualty care in the tactical setting will depend on the tactical situation, injuries sustained by the casualty, knowledge and skills of the first responder, and the medical equipment at hand.
In contrast to a hospital Emergency Department setting where the patient IS the mission, on the street, care of casualties sustained is only a PART of it. Become a leader in the field and BE THE DIFFERENCE when it matters most.
The course offers a diverse pool of instructors ranging from Emergency Physicians to Green Berets. East Coast Tactical Medicine prides itself on promoting a shared learning environment that is fun, friendly, and informative.
DESCRIPTION
TCCC is a three day course, including two days of classroom and one day of tactical medicine. Day 1 & 2 include multimedia classroom lecture, hands-on learning, and case study analysis. Day 3 challenges participants with induced stress and forces them to put their newly learned skills to use in various settings. The class takes a crawl, walk, run-based approach to learning and is suitable for anyone.
