Description

Help us turn "Type One into Type None" at our "T1DLooksLikeMe" benefit concert. Donations greatly appreciated.

T1D (Type 1 Diabetes) is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone people need to get energy from food. The body is unable to break down the sugars in the foods we eat, therefore causing ones blood sugars to spike and requiring T1Ds to be insulin dependent for the rest of their life. Insulin is not a cure.

At 8 years old, Vincent was hospitlized for 4 days at UC Davis Children's Hospital where he received treatment for blood sugars of nearly 500. During the first three years of his diagnosis, Vincent took insulin shots with a syringe each time before meals, an additional dosage was required if his blood sugars were above range, and an increased dosage at bedtime to keep his numbers steady throughout the night. Extreme low blood sugars can lead to a coma. He later transitioned to wearing a pump where small increments of insulin is pumped into his body every hour 24/7.

Come get your boogie on as we celebrate our 5th annual post JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Doundation) walk with live music, dj, and entertainment. Our annual "T1D Warrior" team brings in over 100 walkers each year. Join us this year at the Capitol steps along with over 5,000 walkers on Sunday, October 1st at 8:30am for a fun 5k route through downtown Sacramento.

For sponsorship opportunities please contact me at T1DLooksLikeMe916@gmail.com.

All proceeds will support JDRF a non-profit. (501c3)

Your support means so much to our family.

With Sincere Gratitude.

A mom who will never stop fighting for a cure
