Please join Syrian Home Cooking for our first-ever pop-up event! Expand your world and join us for a taste of Syrian home cooking! Our incredible neighbor, Leila, is sharing a piece of her heritage with our community. Established in December 2018, Syrian Home Cooking features fresh, healthy, homemade savories and pastries available for pick-up. As a part of her business plan, 10% of all profits go directly to Syrian families to help them rebuild. You can purchase half and full dozen hand pies, dips, and desserts through her website: syrianhomecooking.com.

Leila will be featuring three sampler plates for the pop-up; hand-pies (meat, spinach, cheese, or egg and potato), dips (hummous, baba ghanoush, and muhammara), and desserts (baklawa, ghraibe, and namoura). Syrian food tastes great with Hi-Wheel Fizzy Wine and we’ll have recommendations for pairings.

Leila is a first generation Syrian-American.. In August 2018, she spent a month in Syria visiting her brother and sister; her first trip home since war broke out in 2011. She was happy to see life returning to normal and is hopeful that a lasting peace will emerge. Leila is an incredible presence. She shares her connection with Syria and her experiences traveling there - her family, the community, how things have changed, and what’s on the horizon.

Leila is turning fifty on February 20, 2019. Her friends and family have been asking her what she wants to do for her birthday. She came up blank until she met Danielle at Hi-Wheel. Now Leila is happy to tell any interested party, “I’m celebrating my 50th birthday by hosting a pop-up at Hi-Wheel!”

Drink prices range $5.50-10. There are non-alcoholic beverages available.
