Syracuse University Architecture London — Fall 2025 Public Exhibition

By Syracuse University Architecture London

Overview

'Fluid City' is an end-of-semester showcase of bold ideas, spatial experiments and urban futures by Syracuse London Architecture students.

'Fluid City' Syracuse University Architecture London Fall 2025 Public Exhibition.

Fluid City marks the culmination of a semester-long exploration by 52 of our Syracuse University London’s architecture students, presenting a vibrant and speculative lens on the urban future. Hosted at Faraday House, the final exhibition brings together an eclectic mix of physical models, digital renderings, animations, and immersive spatial proposals that interrogate the dynamics of place, identity, and transformation within London’s layered urban fabric.

The work on display emerges from a semester structured around intensive research, iterative design development, and experimental representation techniques. Across the term, students engaged with the Deptford neighbourhood and wider London, analysing ecological systems, infrastructural flows, and socio-political conditions to propose bold architectural interventions. The outcomes are speculative yet grounded — drawing from lived experience, site studies, and emerging practices in urban reuse and inclusive design.

The exhibition is self-curated by students as part of their design development, encouraging reflection not only on their individual projects but also on how these pieces interact, complement, or challenge one another when presented as a collective body of work. Titled Fluid City, the show reflects the fluidity of London’s spaces, identities, and histories — as well as the adaptive, resilient, and sometimes radical ideas that emerge in response.

Visitors can expect to encounter animated narratives, exploratory section models, rich visualisations, and context-driven propositions that span public architecture, speculative futures, and interventions rooted in community needs. These projects are not just architectural exercises, but commentaries on belonging, environment, access, and citizenship — revealing how design can be both visionary and grounded in care.

Whether you’re a fellow student, a curious local, or part of the wider design community, Fluid City invites you to engage with emerging voices and the questions they’re asking of the city — and of architecture itself.
