Symposium on Child Abuse: Prevention, Recognition, Education -- Presented by Cottage Children's Medical Center

Objectives

1) Adapt the provided tools to recognize the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect.
2) Recommend medical work-up and continued follow-up for a child who is suspected to be the victim of abuse.
3) Integrate the legal aspects of child abuse and neglect into the management of care.
4) Detect risk factors for child abuse and neglect as a means to prevent child abuse in vulnerable populations
5) Evaluate the role of parental mental health and substance use in child abuse and neglect

Target audience: Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Teachers, Firefighters, Police, and other First Responders
