JOIN US AS DARLING HARBOUR CELEBRATES MILLENNIA-OLD LOVE AFFAIR WITH OYSTERS WITH PRECINCT-WIDE OYSTER WEEK

SEPTEMBER 20-30, 2019


Darling Harbour, Sydney’s favourite urban playground to explore, play and dine, is kicking off the spring season with a 10-day oyster extravaganza on September 20-30. The inaugural Sydney Oyster Week will see more than a dozen prestigious venues in Barangaroo, Harbourside and Cockle Bay Wharf put on a curated collection of oyster-devoted events celebrating the oyster's considerable role in our shared history, culture and cuisine. Events will feature local NSW oysters from Merimbula, Pambula, Shoalhaven and Wonboyn on the Sapphire Coast, as well as from St Helens (Tasmania) and Coffin Bay (South Australia).


Participating venues include Champagne Bar and Atelier at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour; Cyren Bar Grill Seafood, The Port Darling Harbour, The Watershed Hotel and Cohibar in Harbourside; Nick’s Seafood in Cockle Bay Wharf; and in Barangaroo: 12-Micron, Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro, Bel & Brio, Cirrus, Love.fish Barangaroo, NOLA Smokehouse & Bar, Untied and Zushi.


Sydney Oyster Week will feature a precinct-wide daily Oyster Hour (5-7pm), with special offers such as a 5-course Japanese-inspired seafood degustation at Zushi Barangaroo ($65pp), $1 oysters with $10 Maison Mumm at The Port Darling Harbour, $1.95 oysters in Champagne Bar, a $2 oyster Happy Menu at Untied Barangaroo, 3 appellation oysters from the Shoalhaven, Wonboyn and Merimbula estuaries matched with a favourite wine at love.fish Barangaroo, a dozen oysters with a complimentary glass of Chandon (Cyren Bar Grill Seafood, Nick's Seafood Restaurant), a dozen Sydney Rock Oysters with a bottle of Champagne Taittinger Cuveee Prestige at NOLA Smokehouse & Bar ($100), and more.


Some of the special Sydney Oyster Week events include an Oyster Cart at Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro, a 3-course set menu at Bel & Brio ($99pp) and FOuR Oysters & Wines, an unlimited oyster & wine tasting event in Champagne Bar, featuring four perfectly paired oysters from leading Australian regions along with their matching wines ($98, 26 Sept).

The team are also serving up a six-course seafood degustation during the week with freshly shucked oysters, flying fish roe, sashimi, Alaskan king crab and miso toothfish
