Description

Switch Fusion Workshop: OCT 28 w/ Ali & Reeva
TEACHERS: Ali Woolwich and Reeva Bradley.
Arrive 4:15pm to change shoes/start 4:30pm.
TIX: $0-$20 sliding scale, NOTAFLOF. Workshop capacity will max out, get advance ticket online, regardless what you pay. https://oct28switchfusionworkshop.eventbrite.com.
OVERVIEW: This Switch Fusion partner dance workshop will draw on Blues Basics and Tango Basics to teach you:
- How to be a Switch throughout every dance with every partner, whether you Roletrade never, once, or 20x per song.
- Roletrades that are smooth and clear while you mesh dance styles, without having to know fancy choreography.
- How to have better dances sooner with more people.
We'll review basics for all so the group has a shared vocabulary. We'll turn on the skills that make up Switch Awareness that must be constantly available through all Lead, Follow and Roletrade movements. We'll then tune in to how to use our proprioception to notice and respond to types of Roletrades while supporting that tuning in with improved embrace and movement mechanics in both offset and squared-up partner positioning. Finally, we will sharpen our spatial navigation with options and tools so every duet is consciously choosing the best aim (as a team) at all times through Lead, Follow and Roletrade movements, whether dancing an area, slot, or line of dance style, and every duet can creatively and successfully duet through styles as Fusion dancers. We'll have teacher-facilitated practice sessions throughout the workshop so that all gain a solid incorporation of Switch skills and etiquette (the how? when? and with whom? of dance events) that all can use right away at any Social Dance event.
