Event description

Description

The Swingin' Utters have been kicking around the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years now. They’ve met their wives and their best friends on these streets; they’ve grown and aged right here in the Bay Area. This has ignited the very essence of what goes into their value system and more importantly their music, because it is a reflection of those experiences. For example, the band took a break to raise their families, right at the height of their popularity! Did it faze them? Not really. That’s the thing with these guys. It is family first, with music always germinating within those life choices. During the Utters’ semi-hiatus, they all continued playing music in bands like Druglords of the Avenues, the Re-volts and Filthy Thieving Bastards. Their life experiences influence what goes into their records. A case in point is their debut: 1995’s The Streets of San Francisco; their first full length and an essential “streetpunk” masterpiece. Fat Mike took notice of their grit and honesty, and signed them to Fat Wreck Chords. From there they put out a ton of great records, including A Juvenile Product of the Working Class, Five Lessons Learned, Brazen Head, Swingin’ Utters and Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass, and Bones. For 10 years the Utters toured relentlessly with the likes of Rancid, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys and everyone in between. Which brings us back to celebrating their 25th anniversary, the band fully recharged with their second album in three years and no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Uke-Hunt is ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES vocalist Spike Slawson’s latest cover band extravaganza. What started as Spike simply learning and arranging some of his favorite classic songs for the ukulele on his own, eventually evolved into added musicians and a layered patchwork of ukulele, saxophone, glockenspiel, stylophone, organ, standup bass, and all manner of percussive elements. Obviously, due in no small part to the instrumentation, this most recent foray into the world of breathing new life into shopworn classics displays a decidedly different slant than the breakneck tempo of the GIMMES. UKE-HUNT slips into something a little more comfortable with a lounge/soul vibe that’d be at home in a tiki bar, Elks lodge, rock club, or on a sunny patio. Spike uses UKE-HUNT as a vehicle to explore a diverse selection of songs and while some tracks seem to be made for UKE-HUNT, others undergo some astonishing genre-bending to arrive in perfect harmony with the rest of the album. Of course, the centerpiece of the entire UKE-HUNT experience is Spike’s enchanting vocal ability, which is on full display in all of its silky splendor from start to finish. So pour yourself a cocktail and set course for the captivating sounds of UKE-HUNT.

Another Damn Disapointment (A.D.D) are a punk rock band from Sacramento, CA. They have released three full length albums, toured the country many times, shared the stage with the best bands in the business, and played thousands of shows since their formation in 2001.

They released their third full length entitled "Relentless" on Felony Records January 30th 2009. Check out the songs, check out the videos, check out a show, this band does not disappoint.

Another Damn Disapointment won the Volcom Band Joust competition in their hometown in 2003 then landed a record deal with Volcom Entertainment at the Band Joust finals in Los Angeles. In 2004 the band released the "Hooligan" on Volcom Entertainment. They toured all over the U.S. on the 2004 and 2005 Vans Warped Tour and have continued to tour and play shows since.
