The annual Sweethearts and Patriots gala is organized jointly by young members of the District of Columbia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and members of the District of Columbia Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The patriotic black-tie (optional) gala benefits a local organization that supports Veterans – chosen each year by the Steering Committee.
The 2017 Sweethearts and Patriots Gala will benefit Dog Tag Inc.
Dog Tag Inc. is an innovative five-month training program that holistically fosters the growth of driven, entrepreneurial-minded wounded veterans, spouses and care givers, through a world-class education, ample leadership development opportunities, and a personalized business management rotation.
By the end of the program, graduating fellows have earned a Certificate in Business Administration from Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies. The curriculum serves as an introduction to business from an academic perspective and consists of seven courses that are tailored to the small business-focused goals of our fellows. Courses include accounting, management, communication, financial management, marketing, business policy, and entrepreneurship.
When & Where
Sweethearts and Patriots
The Sweethearts and Patriots (SH&P) Gala and Silent Auction is an annual effort by young professional members of the DC Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and the DC Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution to support local Washington DC non-profits who serve our Nation’s military, veterans and their families. The DCSSAR and the DC DAR are patriotic lineage societies. Our members' ancestors fought in or supported the War for American Independence.
