About this Event

The Inland Empire Blues Society is proud to be holding he 4th Annual "Sweetheart of the Blues" show at the Spokane Valley Eagles. LaRhonda Steele, " Portland's First Lady of the Blues" and her band are the headliners. LaRhonda is a multiple time recipient of the Cascade Blues Assn. Muddy Award for Best Female Vocalist and is a member of the Assn. Hall of Fame. Her musical roots in gospel and blues have propelled her Soulful sound to a successful career both in the local and international arena. In 2016 LaRhonda teamed with with King Louie, "Portland's Boss of B-3" along with "Queen" LaRhonda they released a CD together, "Rock Me Baby" that recieved a lot of BUZZ in the NW and beyond, including a 4 STAR review in Downbeat Magazine. LaRhonda has recordings on iTunes, Spotify and CD Baby. She currently fronts the LaRhonda Steele Band, directs the Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir, is Musical Director for the Portland Center for Spiritual Living and enjoys recording and working with local and international artists, including Curtis Salgado, Norman Slylvester, Janice Marie Scroggins and Gino Vanelli. In LaRhondas words, "Music is Life.

Patrice A. Thompson Rose & HooDoo Udu, Spokane's own, are the opening act. Patrice is a powerhouse vocalist and in 2016 was awarded "Best Female Blues Vocalist" by the Inland Empire Blues Society. She and her fellow band members in HooDoo Udu, are just as talented and all, including Patrice can be seen in other bands as well. Patrice in Soul Proprietor, Ben Rose, lead guitarist, (Christie Lee & Nu Jack City), Brion "Krash" Foster, Bass, (Dangerous Types) and Ben Marshall Drums, (Whiskey Dick & the Working Spiffs).

This will be one remarkable show of soulful, rocking blues grooves.

A spagetti dinner will also be available for purchase from: 6:30 - 8:30 for $12.00.
