The book discussion will be moderated by Sandra Holl and Floriole Bakery will provide a selection of treats from the book with specially selected teas from Rare Tea Cellar. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

Malika Ameen is a classically trained pastry chef whose South Asian heritage sparked her love of spices - sweet and savory - in desserts. A Chicago based pastry chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, her cooking journey has taken her from fine dining restaurants in New York and Los Angeles heading the pastry kitchen at the fames Chateau Marmont where she fed the "who's who" of Hollywood. She later returned home to Chicago where she opened the critically acclaimed Aigre Doux Restaurant, which she owned. Her dessert creations continued to receive high praise and accolades and drew attention to locals and influencers such as Nate Berkus and Michelle Obama. Malika is a TV personality and has been on numerous local and national television shows such as Martha Stewart and NBC Today. She has been in publications such as New York Times and Food and Wine. Malika was a cheftestant on season 1 of Bravo's Top Chef: Just Desserts.
