Friends Who Are Going
Event description

The Sweet Pea Festival is a three-day festival of the arts held the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in August. The Festival kicks off late Friday afternoon in Lindley Park with a performance by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks and the opening of arts and crafts vendor booths; Saturday ramps up with a children’s run and parade that lead the community to the park where the festivities continue through 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Weekend entertainment comes in many forms – music of all genres, performances by local theatre and dance troupes, workshops, family-friendly entertainment and activities, a flower show, a beer and wine garden featuring Montana microbrews, and over 100 arts and crafts vendors to stroll through and purchase unique gifts for yourself, family, and friends.

The week leading up to the Festival offers additional fun-filled, community events. Artists of all skill levels converge on Main Street Tuesday morning for Chalk on the Walk. Wednesday evening local restaurants line Main Street to offer up samples of their fare, while musicians entertain, during the ever popular Bite of Bozeman, rock out on Thursday night at Music on Main - sponsored by Sweet Pea, and the Sweet Pea Art Show runs Juy 14 - September 1 at the Emerson Center.

Admission to events leading up to Festival weekend is free. Admission to the events in Lindley Park requires the purchase of an admission wristband.

Sweet Pea FAQs

Where can I pick up my wristband?
The wristband(s) you just purchased will be available at Will Call at the Central Cypress gate. They are NOT available at all gates. View a map of the park here: http://www.sweetpeafestival.org/map

What do I need to bring to pick up my wristband?
You will need a print-out of your e-ticket or a photo ID of the purchaser.

When can I pick up my wristband?
The Will Call booth is open Friday from 3pm-9pm, Saturday from 10am-9pm, and Sunday from 9am-4:30pm.

We strongly suggest picking them up at times other than 11:00 am on Saturday, when the line is likely to be the longest.

Where can I park?

A free shuttle runs from these lots to Lindley Park: Friday 4pm-11pm, Saturday 10am-11pm, and Sunday 11am-7pm. View directions to Lindley Park and parking at: http://www.sweetpeafestival.org/directions

Once I have my wristband, can I take it off?
No. Your wristband is required for admission and access to all parts of the festival. It must be worn around your wrist and visible at all times. Sweet Pea is not responsible for lost or stolen bands.

Can I bring my dog/cat/bird/horse/pet of any kind?
We love animals as much as you do, but unfortunately pets/animals are not permitted at the Festival. Service dogs are allowed.

Is there anything I CAN’T bring to the festival?
Firearms or weapons of any kind are not permitted at the Festival.

Smoking is not permitted on Festival grounds.

Alcoholic beverages (outside of the Beer & Wine Garden) are not permitted at the Festival.

Do you sell water?
A mobile water bottle filling station is located between the headquarters tent and the food vendors. Help us reduce single use water bottle waste by refilling your own bottle. Sweet Pea branded water bottles are available for purchase at the Merchandise Tent. Food vendors do sell water as well.

I want to ride my bike to the festival. Is there somewhere I can keep it?
A bike valet is available for secure bike parking. It is located on library property near the bridge into Lindley Park from the sculpture garden trail. Donations are accepted.

I didn’t buy enough wristbands. How do I get more?
If you need additional wristbands, you may purchase more at the admission gate. Cash and checks are accepted at all admisssions gates and credit cards are accepted at the Main Gate.

Can I bring lawn chairs to watch performances?
Yes. However, please remember to be courteous to other festival-goers. If you have lawn chairs, please sit to the side or back of performance venues so people sitting on blankets may see too.

Can I try to sell things or hand out fliers at the festival?
No solicitation is allowed.

What is the cell phone policy inside the festival?
