Event description

Description

Join SWE-KC for an evening of SWE Talks, a reception and talk hosted by the SWE-KC Fellows. This year's program will explore the efforts for building the pipeline of future female engineers, featuring a keynote by Joy Wheeler, the CEO of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri.

Women comprise 47% of the workforce but less than 28% are in STEM jobs.
Over 1 million new STEM professionals are needed in the next 10 years.

Come learn about how Girl Scouts is working to move 2.5 million girls into the STEM fields by 2025, what Girl Scouts is doing to assure girls are prepared to pursue these opportunities, and how you can be engaged in the effort.

The event will feature a social and networking hour from 5:30-6:30pm, followed by the presentation beginning at 6:30pm. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres are provided. You are welcome to bring others along to learn about SWE and Girl Scouts, and enjoy an evening of networking.

RSVPs end March 15th!
