We are excited to invite you to the 2019 SWE-MN Professional Development Spring Seminar, sponsored by Optum!

Join us at Optum for a full day of professional development sessions and networking! Get to know other software engineers, leaders, and innovators near you- engage in meaningful conversations and make valuable business connections. Attend session tracks targeted to various career levels and network with fellow STEM professionals. We are featuring two fantastic keynote speakers from Optum: Anu Jain, senior leader for Big Data Engineering and Data Management teams at Optum and Heather Mickman, VP Platform Engineering + Practices at Optum. See below for further event information.

Also, due to the positive feedback last year, we are including an option to participate in an Executive Career Coaching Circle. Participation is based on a first request/first serve basis with limited spots available. If interested be sure to select during your registration. Additional information shared in FAQ’s.

All guests will be need to have a government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc) with them to check in at Security.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for you! We look forward to seeing you there!


Parking: Parking is available in the onsite ramp or the offsite parking locations. A map is enclosed

o Will parking be available?
Yes, you’ll be able to park in the parking ramp or parking lot in any open, unmarked space. Parking will be at no cost. However, keep in mind that the parking lot should be only be used if the ramp is full.

o How do I get to the Conference Center?
From the parking ramp, take the elevator to level P4 and walk across the skyway to Building C, level two. Sign in at the security desk, then continue through the turnstiles and take the stairs or elevator to the conference center on the lower level. If you need help, our friendly guides will point you in the right direction.

What is SWE?

SWE is the Society of Women Engineers association. Their mission is to empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.

I am not a SWE member, can I still attend?

Absolutely, anyone who supports technical women are welcome to attend the event.

Will parking be available?

Yes, you’ll be able to park in the parking ramp or parking lot in any open, unmarked space. However, keep in mind that the parking lot should only be used if the ramp is full.

Is there a fee for parking?

What is an Executive Career Coaching Circle?

It is an in person session with an executive coach. The executive coach will be matched with a small group of 2-3 people focusing on a pre-identified topic area that you selected during registration. Executive coaches help you gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve development objectives, and act as a sounding board based. It is an invaluable session that provides a lot of insight and personal focus.

Is there a fee associated with requesting to be involved in the Executive Career Coaching Circle?

No.

What time and topic is my Executive Career Coaching Circle?

We will match you to a session based on your registration selection(s). There are 3 different times for the coaching sessions. They are 10:00 - 11:15, 12:30 - 1:45, and 1:55 - 3:10. You will be emailed prior to the event with the specific time and location for your Executive Career Coaching Circle along with the focus topic.
