Shiva Lila:

Straight from the Hridaya Hermitage in Maine, experience what these kirtan wallahs do every day for devotional practice in their ashram home. With a powerful combination of energetic drumming and singing, Shiva Lila changes the energy of every space they enter with their music, bringing bodies alive and joy to the faces of those who join to sing with them.

From the western mountains of Maine, these Yogis, Bhagavan Das and Uma will bring us to a different world of bliss!

Bios:
Ashok Nalamalapu was born in India and has been a devotee since his childhood. He has been leading multi-faith chants and playing harmonium since 2011, singing in the traditional Indian Raga style. Ashok has been studying with Indian classical musicians and Jai Uttal. As part of his spiritual path, he has led kirtan at many festivals across the country including Bhakti Fest in California and the Lovelight Festival in Maryland. Ashok has also led kirtan at colleges in Maine, temples in India and the US, and at yoga centers such as Kripalu, Ananda Ashram and Integral Yoga Institute. In addition, he has served as a Master of Ceremonies, inspiring the audiences at all the major US kirtan festivals. In his home state of Maine, Ashok regularly hosts kirtan artists from across the country. His debut album is being released in Spring of 2017. ashok@SadhanaMe.com

Aban Zirikly is a musician, music teacher and conductor. Aban began studying violin when he was ten years old in Damascus, Syria. He has been a professional music teacher and performer since 1975. He taught formally in Damascus and Prague and Czech Republic. He performed at numerous venues in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. He is a well known musician in Syria. He gave Programs and talks on music on the Syrian T.V. and Radio. He established and led the Syrian Chamber Orchestra concerts. He has written many articles on music. Aban is an exceptional violinist.

Andrea Wenger has been singing spiritual and devotional music in a variety of settings since childhood. Currently, she often blends her voice with crystal singing bowls, and uses a frame drum, rattle and bells as a Vibrational Healer providing private sessions and group sound meditations. She has also led Singing Meditation circles, and collaborated with yoga teachers and other sound healers to provide workshops and sacred sound experiences in the Baltimore area and beyond, including a retreat at Yogaville. Her first CD "beginnings" was released in 2011. Andrea has been studying vibrational healing techniques with Ed Rothwell of the Thunderboom Institute for 8 years, and has trained with additional sound healers. She counts it a blessing to be able to use her voice for healing and raising consciousness.

Master drummer, Namory Keita will play djembe. International teacher and performing artist, Namory has travelled to many places to share his culture including Germany, Poland, France, Canada, and Portugal. He has been drumming from age 7 in Guinea, West Africa.

Rodney Mashia has been touching people's hearts and making them smile for decades with his soulful music. He has entertained many groups nationwide with his sensitive original lyrics, vocal interpretations, guitar and flute. Born and raised in rural Louisiana with Gospel roots and educated in New England, Rodney's life experiences have spanned the black and white American political and music cultures of the past five decades, all contributing to his unique style. As a flutist, he has accompanied the Hanumen, Carrie Grossman, Eddie Nataraj, Devadas and many other kirtan leaders. He will play flute and chant with his beautiful voice.

Randy Lindsey, MMA (Master of Musical Arts), is from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Along with tuning pianos, Randy teaches guitar, voice, and piano. He performs throughout the New England area with his six-string acoustic guitar : Jazz Standards, 60s - 70s Popular Songs, Instrumentals, Originals, Classical Guitar Pieces, and songs from Musicals, Operas, and Foreign Cultures.
