Event Details

Are you waiting for opportunity -- or leveraging your unique advantages to create your own?

With the fast flow and high volume of ever-changing information, many of us are struggling just to “keep up” -- let alone “get ahead.” Heightened expectations around always being “on” make it challenging to look beyond the immediate horizon of our “to-do” lists. We have more options than ever before, intensifying fears of making the wrong decision and/or missing out.

Join the SAIS Women’s Alumni Network (SWAN) DC hub for this workshop and alumni panel discussion that will debunk some common myths around taking charge of your career at any stage. It will offer practical strategies for prioritizing yourself, designing your career, and showcasing your value to create new opportunities with people and organizations. Participants will leave this event with a clearer idea of what they bring to the table, strategies for capitalizing on their skillsets to create opportunities, and tangible steps they can take.

Join us for the workshop featuring:

Lisa Banks is Founder and CEO of Altea Group, a coaching, facilitation and leadership development training firm. She is also a Partner at Optify, a woman owned Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to making coaching a force to develop the next generation of leaders who will shape the future.

Panelist include:

Lori Cloutier B’04, ’05, Chief Partner Engagement Strategist, Commonwealth & Partner Engagement (CPE), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD(I))

Aisha Al Mesned ’17, Assistant Defense Attache for Policy, Embassy of the State of Qatar

Natalie Lynch ’16, Consultant, Deloitte Consulting

The cost is $25 per person ($20 before October 10), includes dinner reception. Please register in advance.
