Description
Come & let us have fun at the Waswahili Cultural event in Basel organised by the Swahili Cultural Association Swiss. (The language is actually Kiswahili)
What are we going to do?
- Learn the history of the language Kiswahili and the Waswahili people (Guest of Honour)
Ayub Matumbo from Rome (Journalist)
- Listen to students narrating Kiswahili poems
- Sing Kiswahili songs together and dance to Chakacha music
- Watch an interesting Kiswahili Tanzanian Movie called " Sing it Loud" by Julia Peters
- Learn how to colourful tie fabrics (Kanga/Leso) and the importance of communication
- Henna painting, Hair plaiting, coffee/chai brewing, fashion show etc are all activities to be experienced
- Book your Cooking Class Lesson to be done at 6 pm.
We shall cook typical Swahili Traditional Dishes like Maniok/Cassava and prepare Kachumbari ( Salad) etc plus prepare our own fresh coconut cream, just like the natives do. We will use original spices from the Spice Market in Zanzibar. This will be fun and an unforgettable experience.
