Sutter Creek CISM Training
Mon, Nov 7, 2016, 8:30 AM – Tue, Nov 8, 2016, 5:00 PM PST
Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR), in partnership with your district, is sponsoring Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) classes that focus on ministering to people in crisis situations. The course being taught is Suicide Intervention and Postvention. This class will provide participants with basic information about suicide as well as help participants develop practical skills for prevention, intervention and postvention. Small group role plays will allow participants to apply the suggested techniques as they are learned. This course is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about intervening across the suicide spectrum. The course is part of a multi-component CISM system developed by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). This training has 14 continuing education units approved by ICISF through the University of Maryland Baltimore College.
The class will be held at New Life Christian Center (Jackson Foursquare Church) in Sutter Creek, CA on November 7-8, 2016. Both days class begins at 8:30am and ends at 5pm. Early bird registration (through October 17) is $180 and regular registration (after October 17) is $200. Training manuals and handouts will be provided in class.
Cancellation notice must be received in email or to the Eventbrite website 5 working days prior to the beginning of class to qualify for a partial refund. A $30 administrative fee will be assessed for any cancellation.
** Please note that this training is not FDR's Disaster Relief Trainings, but is additional training to help equip you to minister in crisis situations. It is recommended for FDR responders as continuing education, but is open for all to attend even if they have not attended one of our Disaster Relief Trainings yet. **
