Sustaining environmental action in a time of austerity - how can we do it?
Thu, March 30, 2017, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM BST
Local and regional projects for sustainability rely on a supportive environment - this might include grant funding schemes, social enterprise support, networking events to strengthen relationships or a local council that delivers projects and helps others to do so.
This event is a chance to reflect on what it means to have a supportive environment for sustainability projects and identify ideas for how this could be improved - both here in Leicester and further afield.
We will hear from Gavin Fletcher, project manager of the Sustainable Harborough project. This project has had five years' funding from the big lottery to employ a team of four staff to support sustainability initiatives in the town. Gavin will reflect on what the project has and hasn't achieved, and on what is needed to sustain place-based activity to support environmental sustainability.
We will also share ideas with each other through structured small group activities, focussed on our views and needs for a supportive local environment for our own work and projects.
You can attend this session in person or online via webinar software.
