About this event
Learn how to use a running stitch, back stitch, and overcast stitch to create reuseable cotton rounds and a drawstring bag with Old Flame Mending! Whether you're new to sewing or have been sewing for years, we welcome you to join us for an evening of repurposing. Ages 18+
Old Flame Mending will provide all materials, but you are encouraged to bring fabric from home to repurpose! We recommend soft fabric scraps, such as flannel, terry cloth, t-shirt or sweatshirt knits, with the length + width larger than the the size of your fist. Also, if you'd like to repurpose something for the drawstring, you can bring a piece of ribbon, shoestring, or lace! Feel free to get creative :)
With admission, participants will receive a sewing kit to take home, which will include scissors, a variety of needles, thread, embroidery floss, and a thimble.
Masking is required in our space. There will be one fifteen minute break, during which participants will be permitted to remove their masks to enjoy a light snack and selter/ water/ tea, all provided by Old Flame Mending.
Instructor: Wendy Lloyd, sewist at Old Flame Mending.
