This workshop will introduce participants to the opportunities for incorporating sustainable energy into artwork and events.
About this event
This workshop is an introduction to sustainable energy designed specifically for artists and arts organizations. We will discuss the opportunities for incorporating sustainable energy into art contexts, with a particular focus on solar power. This will include using sustainable energy as both a power supply and as an integrated part of the work.
Participants will be introduced to some basic concepts for determining if their project and/or location is suitable for incorporating solar power.
Workshop outline:
- Contextualize the use of sustainable energy in artistic/ cultural environments and discuss conceptual approaches
- Identify your values/ priorities for using sustainable energy
- Outline technical possibilities and limitations
- Basic guidance on PV system siting
- Basic guidance on PV system sizing
- Basic guidance on assessing whether your project might be technically and financially feasible
