Topic Overview

For over the past years now, humans have been trying to fight climate change. Even companies are also trying to hop in on the trend. And one great tool that they communicate their efforts on becoming sustainable is through a Sustainability Report, which is a document that tells the stakeholders about the organization’s governance, scale, CSR activities and other efforts on how it decrease environmental impacts.

One of the most popular Sustainability reporting guideline is GRI, which stands for Global Reporting Initiative. It is used in X countries and X governments have referenced it in their policy making.

“Sustainability reporting has traditionally been an annual exercise for corporations and other organizations, but in order to make it truly relevant and useful for decision makers, whether they are executives, investors or consumers, we need to think about how to make it more current or even forward-looking.”

Program Overview

This 1-day course will educate participants on the basics of sustainability reporting and the fundamentals of preparing a sustainability report in accordance to the GRI Standards. The program will also include basic understanding on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to report on them through Sustainability Reports. It will introduce the universe of sustainability reporting, the contents, the principles including the purpose behind it.
