Event Details

Do you ever get the feeling you're alone in this whole sustainability narrative? where do you turn to for support or information?

The truth is pretty simple - when we want to know something or want to do something, we normally turn to our informal networks - networks of people we know either directly through work or those who arrive into our networks through shared links or connections. When we turn to these groups or individuals, it is usually to tap into shared knowledge.

In the case of sustainability and the business response to climate change, these networks are going to be even more important and that is why we have put together a series of events where people can attend, at minimal cost, and hear from other sustainability professionals about the work they are currently involved in and the challenges they face.

Our first event is going to be held in Sydney on July 29th and guest speakers include Matthew Tukaki, CEO of The Sustain Group and Australia's Local Representative to the United Nations Global Compact, former Minister of Infrastructure, the Hon David Campbell and Director of Sustainability @ the Intercontinental Hotel Group, Victoria Rose.

Our first "big" topic is going to be around the sustainability challenge and how our energy, infrastructure and commercial sectors can reform and meet the demands of the future. We will be talking about the supply chain and the risks involved in non-monitoring, purchasing sustainably and, importantly, understanding consumer and buyer behaviour. We are also going to look at community and stakeholder engagement.

Following the "talking" side, there will then be an opportunity to connect and network, engage and interact with speakers and really get involved in the discussion.

We are also now adding to the networking event a conversation with Dr Michael du Plessis who has been working with business' and industry as it prepares for the implementation on a price on carbon in the Australian economy. What will a price on carbon mean for business and industry? Post the networking event we will also be holding online discussions and forums exclusively for those who have attended.

Booking is essential because of limited numbers. Light food and beverages are included in your registration cost
