Sept 27 Join us for a 2.8 mile walk down five holes of the Ocean Course and beach in Sea Pines Plantation, to promote the connection of health, golf and the environment while building community. The unique education experience will also raise funds for The First Tee, the American Diabetes Association and the Sea Pines Forest Preserve.

Sustainability in Golf… the Business of Green is a leading initiative by Experience Green to connect regional, national and international experts, professionals and practitioners in the golf industry for collaborative learning to advance a culture of sustainability. The three day offering supports evidence based decision making for action to benefit the planet, its people and prosperity the trifecta for sustainability.


The 2nd annual event will take place September 25-27, 2014 at the Plantation Golf Club at Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC, and will be case study driven, for practical “boots on the ground” application. It will build on the highly successful 2013 event, Sustainability in Golf… Beyond the Green, expanding to include a ZERO WASTE workshop for Golf, Events and Hospitality, as well as a Community Walk to engage the general public in a golf course experience to promote the benefits of connecting nature, golf, health and the community, and support local charities.

SYMPOSIUM

Presentations with discussion on topics and issues that affect sustainability in golf, from industry leaders representing all stakeholder groups - owners, superintendents, managers, manufacturers, pros and marketing professionals. ZERO WASTE WORKSHOP

For Golf, Events and Hospitality Industry Professionals

This application based workshop will feature local and national experts and will showcase methods and onsite technologies needed to plan, manage and audit for successful recycling, dehydrating, composting, worm farming and more.

Qualifying professionals of the LPGA, PGA, CMAA, and GCSAA will receive continuing education credits for their participation in the Symposium and/or Zero Waste Workshop.

SUNSET RECEPTION

Each symposium registration includes one admission to the Sunset Reception, but you must indicate on this registration form if you will be attending this function. Additional tickets are available for purchase to bring a guest.  This is a casual event, feel free to change into attire for relaxed fun and recreation.

COMMUNITY WALK

*If you are not staying in the Sea Pines Resort, there is a $6 gate fee per day to enter the Sea Pines Plantation.  The Plantation Golf Club is approximately 4 miltes from the main gate of the Sea Pines Plantation.  Please allow 15 minutes to reach the destination, find parking and arrive at the Magnolia Room.
