About this Event
Survive is a 16 hour comprehensive course designed to take the student through the realities of a defensive firearm deployment. This 3 part course will give the students the skills necessary to identify the onset of a violent encounter, react effectively with a pistol and deal with the likely injuries sustained during a violent encounter.
Day 1 consists of a Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) session at the Active bystander guideline level. Topics covered include; tourniquets, wound packing, bandaging, chest seals, shock management, hypothermia prevention and other common injuries. This will be followed by a session concentrating on situational awareness/behavior analysis.
Day 2 begins with a 4 hour pistol diagnostics clinic designed to concentrate on deployment of a pistol and an overview of pistol fundamentals. The class culminates with scenario based firearms and medical intervention situations to place all skills into contextual situations.
Students receive a TECC Active Bystander certificate and a Stop The Bleed certificate.
