Event description

Description

Participants will explore the possibilities of designing a surface through the layering of screenprinting and linoleum printing. The process of both printing options will be demonstrated for students to explore color, texture, pattern and repetition. The materials will offer students to design a range of sizes and multiple prints. An exciting workshop in which creators can embrace spontaneity as well as follow a plan.

Instructor Bio

Printmaking is a personal interest of Paige's because the process involves certain steps, repetition and opportunity to apply texture, a great balance of structure and freedom. These elements of art making do cross over into her lifestyle with loving to ride bikes, swim and make white cheddar sage biscuits. Paige grew up in Tennessee and attended East Tennessee State University where she earned her BS in Art Education then relocated to Washington DC for the past 20 years. In the last five years of living in DC and teaching art, she earned her Masters in Art Education at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. As one of the four DC public school teachers to receive a full scholarship, with gratitude she continues to seek opportunities to share her experience in the studio classroom.
