Supreme Court Visit
Tue, June 27, 2017, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM BST
Join professinally qualified guide and former City law firm partner, Colin Davey, for a tour of the Supreme Court, the highest court in the United Kingdom.
Whilst the Court quietly gets on with its day-to-day work over a wide range of appeals covering complex points of law, it is best known most recently for the decision to require Parliamentary approval for the triggering of the UK's departure from the European Union under Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union.
The building has its own story, but the most strking feature of the Court's operation is its informality against what a visitor would expect. Subject to availability of cases, there will be a chance to sit in on some court proceedings.
Meeting point is the basement cafe at nearby Methodist Central Hall. This is found by going through the main entrance and then turning right to go down the stairs to the cafe area. We will meet from 11am, ready for a prompt departure at 11.30am.

Photography rules will be explained on the day. Please note that there is an airport-style security check on entering the Court building. The ticket price includes a separate fee payable for a privately guided group visiting the Court.
