UK NEQAS is back, hosting its first in-person event since the Covid-19 Pandemic!
About this event
Following the successful ‘Coordinating Point of Care Testing’ meeting, held at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London in 2017, we’re extremely excited to tell you that UK NEQAS is back, hosting an in-person educational event later in the year and you are invited to come along and be part of the first face-to-face event for UK NEQAS since the Covid-19 Pandemic!
Delegates who attend the event will hear from a variety of speakers who have experience in either accrediting, developing, delivering, or supporting a POCT/Near Patient Testing service.
This event also offers a fantastic opportunity for participants to network and engage with specialist exhibitors at various times during the day.
Staff from a variety of sectors will benefit from attending this event, including, but not limited to, staff working within a retail/community pharmacy setting, GPs, Practice Nurses, and staff working within a laboratory who are already offering or considering offering POC testing.
Refreshments and catering will be provided for all attendees:
- Upon arrival
- During the mid-morning break
- At lunchtime
Attendees will also receive an electronic certificate of attendance after the event.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the day, delegates will:
- Have a better understanding of how to develop and deliver a POCT/Near Patient Testing service, whether it be in a primary or secondary care setting
- Have an awareness of the factors to be considered when selecting a POCT/Near Patient Testing External Quality Assessment (EQA) provider
The day will include presentations and discussions on the following topics:
- Accreditation for POC tests
- Establishing a POCT service
- POC testing in the community
- Training and staff competency
- Plus a lively afternoon debate
Venue accessibility
The main event and exhibition area are located in the Andante/Scherzo room, and the Allegro Suite, both of which are located on the first floor of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham. These rooms are fully accessible by stairs or a lift.
