Event description

Description

This coalition meeting will be a training on Supporting Unstably Housed & Homeless Youth of Color. There will be a facilitated presentation on the NW Network-led project, the Youth of Color Needs Assessment – a county-wide, systematic examination of the overrepresentation of homelessness among youth of color to clarify their experiences, strengths, and needs regarding housing. The project aimed to illustrate opportunities and barriers for King county’s ongoing efforts to prevent disproportionate rates of homelessness among youth of color.

The Outspoken Speakers Bureau (of LGBTQ and allied youth) will also provide a panel discussion about their experiences navigating respective systems and supports in King County. The change in time for this meeting, as requested by coalition members, has been made in order to make the meeting space more accessible for youth to engage and participate.

Light refreshments will be provided. The meeting is free and open to anyone, so feel free to invite any of your colleagues, coworkers, or youth to join.
