Event description

Description

This symposium aims to explore the barriers and facilitators to extending working lives of older workers, exploring both those currently in employment, and those out of work. The symposium will provide an update of the research findings from the Supporting Older People into Employment (SOPIE) study, which investigated the experiences and return-to-work transitions of unemployed over-50s engaging with the Work Programme in Scotland.

The symposium will also hear from other academic projects funded under the MRC Lifelong Health and Wellbeing Extending Working Lives funding call; from policy makers who will describe the work currently being done on employability policy for older workers, and from the Minister for Social Security on the developments of the devolved Welfare Benefits in Scotland.

Lunch will be provided.

Tickets are limited so please book your place by Friday 24 November 2017.
