Description

This informative training is brought to you by Central Region REACH and in partnership with Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services. The training will cover topics related to understanding how a traumatic brain injury or the progression of dementia may impact the brain of a person with I/DD, as well offering realistic support strategies to help those who are in caregiving roles. Dr. Adam Kaul specializes in providing psychiatric care to individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders across the life span and Dr. Kara Beatty is a psychiatrist who works with individuals who are 14 and older. She has completed a fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine and has done extensive work in the field of TBI. She also is currently serving on the board of directors for Community Brain Injury Services.

This training is sure to be very informative and engaging. Target audience are those in caregiving / supporting roles for individuals with dementia and / or traumatic brain injuries.
