Supported Education (SEd): The Bridge that Connects Persons with Disabilities to their Educational Goals

The ages of 15 through 21 is the time when young people are beginning to develop adult roles such as becoming an employee and/or college student. However, this is also the age range when the onset of mental illness often occurs (Newman et al., 1996).

As a result, disruption can occur in this critical time of development as those who experience mental health issues try to come to grips with their illness. Supported Education (SEd) is an evidence-based practice that can help these individuals pursue and obtain their educational goals in the post-secondary educational setting.

Participants will learn

  • the history of and be provided with, an overview of Supported Education (SEd)
  • to identify SEd's core service components
  • to identify the benefits of Supported Education and how to access these services in the community

Following the webinar you will be emailed a brief evaluation.
Please complete to receive a Certificate of Completion.

There is no cost to participate.

A link will be sent the day of the webinar to log on. Please log on to webinar five minutes prior to start time.
