'Support by Fire' is a charity invitational 2-gun action shoot which will take place on October 8, 2016 at the Salem Richard's Firearm Range. This will be a 3 stage action rifle and pistol shoot which will involve shooting and movement on all stages. This event will challenge your physical and marksmanship abilities. There will be stages of fire which test your ability to think on your feet and react quickly to unkown situations in a close quarter. There will also be courses where the situation is known but are a test of your marksmanship and fitness abilities. This will be a centerfire only event which may range from .223 to .30-06. Handguns may range from .380 ACP to .45 ACP. If you need clarification on if your weapon or ammunition is allowed on the range do not hesitate to send a message to the event organizers. No steel core ammo is allowed on the range, questionable ammo may be tested with a magnet in order to insure no harm is done to our range equipment or shooters. All shooters need a sling for their rifle, a holster for their pistol, and a means of carrying ammunition on the range (be it a tactical vest, chest rig, belt rig, etc.) As this event is taking place in October, however, it is still advised to bring sunscreen and extra water.
The full list of rules and scoring procedure will be emailed to the participants once they purchase a ticket for the event. After participant check-in, the event will begin with a safety and course brief. Participants will then rotate through the first two courses of fire. Following the first set of ranges there will be a break for a provided bbq lunch. During the lunch break the range will be reorganized for the final course of fire. We will anounce any changes and answer questions on rules and procedure at the safety brief before the event begins or at any time they may arise.
All of the proceeds of the event will go to Upstate Warrior Solution, which is a veterans 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Upstate Warrior Solution assist veterans with their transition to a civilian lifestyle by helping local veterans find local solutions to housing, employment, education, and healthcare issues. More information on Upstate Warrior Solution can be found below in the event organizer section.
