SOLI’s Chamber Ensemble Concert 25th Season: New Horizons

The concert will feature music by one of the most awarded composers of our time, Jennifer Higdon; Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw; D.C based award-winning composer Natalie Draper; and Syrian-American composer Kareem Roustom. No season would be complete this year without giving nod to one of America’s most beloved and celebrated composers Leonard Bernstein. In the year of his 100th birthday, Bernstein’s continues to be an important figure and a great inspiration for many composers of today.

Lady Macbeth, a Tragic Comedy

Trinity University Theatre Department

Trinity Theatre presents Lady Macbeth, A Tragic Comedy, directed by Roberto Prestigiacomo in collaboration with Stieren guest artist Andrea Cavarra. A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan, and takes the Scottish throne for himself. Macbeth is then wracked with guilt and paranoia.

 Trinity University's Maverick Lecture presents Mark Shields, a political analyst for PBS NewsHour and a syndicated columnist, speaking on "Politics and Policy: How Will History Judge Today's Headlines?" 

The Maverick Lecture Series is underwritten by the William and Salomé Scanlan Foundation.
