Objectives:

1. Participants will identify the four necessary employment forms required by the IRS and EDD to be completed for new employees.

2. Participants will compute three wage and compensation rate possibilities for employees for each payroll period.

3. Participants will be critique four components of a supervisory informed consent document.

4. Participants will identify three advertising requirements of prelicensees in private practice

5. Participants will interpret four ethical principles for supervisory relationships.

Course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of Law & Ethics AND Supervision continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEP’s as required by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences. CANDDI is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT's, LCSWs, & LPCCs conducting or interested in private practice supervision. CANDDI maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

9:00am-12:00pm Why do you want to hire an Associate? Advertising open positions, interview do’s and don’ts, New hire paperwork, contents of employee files, supervisory notes, Worker’s Compensation, Wage tracking, Sick Pay Tracking, BBS paperwork and required forms, Current Testing procedures for prelicensees

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch Break-catered (non-CEU)

1:00pm-4:00pm Business and Professions Code Laws related to supervision, scope of practice for each type of prelicensee, Supervisor Responsibilities, Advertising Regulations related to prelicencees, Ethical Standards for Supervision, Supervisee Informed Consent paperwork

Certificates of Completion will be awarded at the end of the presentation upon the completion of the evaluation worksheet.

Overall, the program is designed to educate supervisors and licensed clinicians interested in supervision about the employment laws and ethics in regards to hiring associates in private practice. The purpose of the program is to help supervisors be aware of their responsibilities as an employer.

Refund policy- Requests for refunds must be in writing and received at curt.widhalm@gmail.com before one week prior to the event. A $25 administrative fee will be deducted for cancellation of a paid event, through the cancellation deadline. There will be no refunds on requests received after one week prior to the event. The program administrator has discretion to issue refunds that do not comply with the policy.
